The UK and India are set to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which will see both countries help develop urban transport sectors.
This will see Transport for London (TfL) share its technologies and expertise it uses in the capital’s public transport network with India’s Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, IndiaGB News has reported.
It is expected to strengthen cooperation on areas including electric buses, low carbon innovation, project financing and maintenance strategies.
TfL manages nearly all of London’s public transport, including the London Underground, the bus network, Dockland Light Rail, water transport systems and even cable cars.
It hopes the MoU will help it improve the planning and delivery of transport solutions in both countries, with the end goal of increasing efficiency, mobility and improving air quality.
