Flights between UK and Bangladesh increased
Negotiations also see a bigger choice of destinations.
Transport Minister Paul Clark has announced that flights between the UK and Bangladesh are set to treble from between seven-ten services a week on each side to 31 following recent negotiations in Dhaka.
Airlines from either country can also now operate services between anywhere in Bangladesh and any UK airport, replacing the existing regime which only allowed flights between Heathrow, Manchester and Dhaka.
The new arrangements also mean Biman Bangladeshi Airways will be free to start a new service from Dakha to New York via Manchester, which is expected to launch later this month.
Clark said: "This represents a significant step forward in aviation relations between our two countries.”
“Not only will it help deliver wide economic and consumer benefits, but it will be especially good news for the UK's large and vibrant Bangladeshi community.”
