Crossrail funding confirmed in Comprehensive Spending Review
Major rail project gets the final green light
Chancellor George Osborne has announced in the Comprehensive Spending Review that the funding of Crossrail is going ahead.
Helen Hill, director of policy at the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry said: "We are delighted that the Chancellor has confirmed Crossrail and Tube upgrades will go ahead as planned after tireless campaigning by the business community."
"Building Crossrail and completing the Tube upgrades will boost the capital’s economy and keep London moving in the face of a rapidly growing population."
